We, at YogaSole are in service of community. We believe that everyone can benefit from the practice of Yoga. Our mission is to introduce beginners to the beautiful world of Yoga, as well as create an open-minded and compassionate support system for those who are already practitioners. Today, in our own way, YogaSole continue that tradition by offering diverse and inspiring classes of all style and levels, as well as worldwide retreats, and workshops. It is with compassion and respect for this ancient art that we welcome everyone to experience the profound beauty of Yoga.

About Sunee LaClaire
In 2018, Sunee LaClaire joined the YogaSole team as the managing partner. She has adventured all over the planet, taking yoga classes in North America, Europe, Asia, Australia and Africa. Having experienced many different versions of yoga and yoga studios, Sunee knew upon her first visit to YogaSole in 2016 that it was a special place. Feeling embraced by the welcoming community from the moment she entered, she became a desk staff member immediately after discovering the studio. Her appreciation for the special atmosphere of healing and inclusiveness at the studio lead her to seek a more active role in helping it grow and the community continue to thrive. She brings with her a wealth of experience form her previous careers as a classroom teacher, personal stylist, retail manager and trainer.
Sunee received her 200 CYT from YogaWorks in 2018 under the tutelage of Heather Seagraves and Markela Los. In 2019 she attained Yoga Tune Up® certification with Ariel Kiley and Jonathan McKinna. Sunee delights in teaching students about the wonders of the human body and the values of self care, self massage, and asking questions.

About Evalena Leedy
Evalena Leedy. E-RYT-200, YACEP, IAYT is founder and consulting partner of YogaSole in Brooklyn, New York. She has been teaching and leading the YogaSole Community since 2008. Evalena studied with Schuyler Grant of The Kula Yoga Project and completed her initial Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Works, NYC. She has been practicing zazen meditation since 2009 and continues to practice and study meditation with Genno Linda King of the Zen Studies Society.
During a very challenging personal time Evalena began her exploration of the practice of yoga while hiking in the rain forest of Costa Rica. The trip was life changing. She was in search of answers to those big life questions: Who am I? What is my purpose? What is holding me back? Experiencing the profound beauty of nature and the simultaneous joy and suffering of the human condition helped focus her search. She vowed (or better said, was directed) to study to find the path to freedom. Almost immediately her teachers appeared and the exploration lead her directly to her yoga mat and to zazen meditation.
Evalena is know for her enthusiastic authentic, non-judgmental teaching style and compassion-centered philosophy. “We are at the perfect place to begin. Yoga will come and meet you, right where you are.” Devoting herself to continuous philosophical education from various ancient texts, practice and meditation, Evalena weaves thought-provoking meditations throughout her classes, applying ancient wisdom to our contemporary western world in a useful and understandable way. She encourages growth of the physical, emotional and spiritual self, celebrating interconnectedness to each other, to the world and to the universe.
Teaching and sharing the practice of yoga is her undeniable passion. Creating and cultivating connection and community are her mission. Giving back is her duty and the heart of her practice. YogaSole holds many fundraising events for local causes and beyond. Evalena is member of the board of directors for the White Hawk Foundation who’s mission is to conserve and preserve the rainforest on the Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica. YogaSole had raised over $100,000 for organizations like the White Hawk Foundation, the Breast Cancer Research Fund and other local charities.
She is blessed to be practicing and teaching yoga privately and to groups in classes, workshops, tranings, and retreats. Evalena looks forward to practicing with you soon.
