As a community studio, we love to meet new people and we regularly have opportunities in or related to the studio.
In many years of building community, we have learned that when individuals establish a connection to the community before taking on another role, it seems to work out better for everyone. Community Class Mentee Teachers
Are you:
- Enthusiastic about yoga, wellness, fitness?
- Ready to increase your understanding of anatomy and physiology?
- Excited about the possibility of getting mentored to become an engaging and effective movement and meditation instructor?
- A problem solver?
- Graduate of a 200 Hr Yoga Teacher Training or Mat Pilates Instructor Training?
- Looking for real world practice to improve your teaching that you don’t have to pay for?
- Promoting your classes and yourself as a teacher to your network through social media, email, etc?
If so, you might be a good fit for the YogaSole Community Class Mentoring Program.
What we offer:
- Opportunities to teach Community Classes in the studio and in Prospect and Sunset Parks (1 - 4x / month)
- Monthly Mentorship session with an 500 hr Certified teacher trainer
- Quarterly Meetings with fellow mentees
- Unlimited Teacher Membership to attend YogaSoleclasses
- Opportunities for advancement to sub list and potentially regular classes
- 10% discount on retail at the YogaSole Boutique
- 20% discount on Workshops and specialty classes
- Biannual Social Gatherings with fellow teachers
- Compensation: Scaled rate that increases with student attendance
What we expect:
- Teaching a minimum of two classes a month
- Taking at minimum one class a month
- Consistently showing up for every session early and ready to make the experience joyful and engaging for each student
- Curiosity and Open mindedness to trying new methods
- Appreciation for the ancient roots of yoga
- Open two-way communication
- Enthusiasm to engage in the larger YogaSole community

- Send a resume to [email protected] . In our reply, we will send you a promo code to attend a YogaSole class on us.
- Attend a class at the studio or in the park to see the community in action.
- Set up a time to meet with Sunee for an informal interview.
- Schedule a time for an audition class.
- Schedule a feedback session after the class.
A Note about auditions:
We find that teachers who have already taught at least a few classes are more likely to have the necessary tools to begin this program. If you have not taught a group class before, please take the time to gather some supporters and practice teaching in front of an audience.
- If you are currently teaching at another studio or online (or classes independently), we will attend one of your classes at any other NYC studio (or online) as a regular student. Just send us your schedule.
- If you are not currently teaching classes, we can arrange for you to come to the studio to teach in one of the Community Class slots that we have on the schedule.

Volunteer Opportunities
Earn free yoga by volunteering for a work / trade Position
DESK STAFF:
In exchange for between 2 - 4.5 hours of work at the front desk, we will give you unlimited yoga classes at the studio.

Points of Note:
- Duties include greeting students, checking them in, assisting them in purchasing classes and retail items, and cleaning the studio.
- Requires a regular weekly commitment for 9 months minimum.
- Coverage for shifts is shared among volunteers and staff for vacations and other commitments.
- Advance notice for missing a shift is required (to find coverage).
