At YogaSole, we empower our students to stand taller, feel stronger, and connect more deeply with themselves and others. We put the students in charge of their experience, whether they are seeking to feel more confident, graceful, or resilient. Our fun, tailored classes offer a moment of ‘me-time’ for busy, thoughtful individuals. We expect that each of our instructors will honor this commitment to our students and our community.

In many years of building community, we have learned that when individuals establish a connection to the community before taking on another role, it seems to work out better for everyone. Community Class Yoga Teachers

Are you:

  • Enthusiastic about yoga, wellness, fitness?

  • Ready to increase your understanding of anatomy and physiology?

  • Excited about the possibility of getting mentored to become an engaging and effective movement and meditation instructor?

  • Graduate of a 200 Hr Yoga Teacher Training

  •  Looking for real world practice to improve your teaching that you don’t have to pay for?

  • Promoting your classes and yourself as a teacher to your network through social media, email, etc?

If so, you might be a good fit for the YogaSole Community Class Mentoring Program.

What we offer:

  • Opportunities to teach Community Classes in the studio and in Windsor Terrace and/or Sunset Park (2 - 5x / month)

  • Monthly Mentorship session with an 500 hr Certified teacher trainer

  • Quarterly Meetings with fellow mentees

  • Unlimited Teacher Membership to attend YogaSole classes

  • Opportunities for advancement to sub list and potentially regular classes

  • 10% discount on retail at the YogaSole Boutique

  • At least 10% discount on Workshops and specialty classes

  • Biannual Social Gatherings with fellow teachers

  • Compensation: Scaled rate that increases with student  attendance

What we expect:

  • Teaching a minimum of two classes a month

  • Taking at minimum one class a month

  • Consistently showing up for every session early and ready to make the experience joyful and engaging for each student

  • Curiosity and Open mindedness to trying new methods

  • Appreciation for the ancient roots of yoga 

  • Open two-way communication

  • Enthusiasm to engage in the larger YogaSole community.

The process to apply:

We are an unusual studio and we like to do things a little bit differently. We encourage everyone who is interested in working at the studio to attend at least one class before beginning the process to apply. We find this cuts down on a mismatch of personalities, styles, vibes, etc.

To get started…

  • Send a resume to Sunee@yogasole.com . In our reply, if you have not yet taken a class with us, we will send you a promo code to attend a YogaSole class, on us. 

  • Attend a class at the studio or in the park to see the community in action.

  • Set up a time to meet with Sunee for an informal style interview and complete the YogaSole application (if applicable).

  • Schedule a time for an audition class (if applicable). 

  • Schedule a feedback session after the class (if applicable). 

Desk Staff

Are you:

  • Compensation: $17/hr for up to 8 hours a week (weekend shifts)

  • Consistently showing up for every shift on time and ready to make the experience joyful and welcoming for each student

  • Enthusiasm to engage in the larger YogaSole community

  • Excellent customer service

The Audition:

We find that teachers who have already taught at least a few classes are more likely to have the necessary tools to begin this program. If you have not taught a group class before, please take the time to gather some supporters and practice teaching in front of an audience. 

  • If you are currently teaching at another studio or online (or classes independently), we will attend one of your classes at any other NYC studio (or online) as a regular student. Just send us your schedule.  

  • If you are not currently teaching classes, we can arrange for you to come to the studio to teach in one of the Community Class slots that we have on the schedule.
